I know Vita did that but I really don't see the logic behind it. Japan doesn't really have Christmas sales boost so launching there near the end of the year really doesn't help. If they were to launch in October in NA and Europe it would be huge even if it was priced at $400. They wouldn't even have to sell at a loss they could easily outperform WiiU by not having a tablet controller. I heard WiiU is under $200 to produce the system itself so they could easily have some awesome specs at $400 (easily 4gb ram and achieve the seamless interface discussed in their meetings).
