Star Fox 64.

The first two Star Foxes were named Starwing and Lylat Wars respectively in Europe because of the 'Star Fox' game on 2600.

Yep. An excellent game about talking animals. In space. I adore the game as it (probably unintentionally) plays out as an action movie parody, replete with cheesy one-liners, massive explosions, and amatuerish flying stunts. All pretense of realism was dropped for the sake of purely fun shooter bliss.
