I predicted a too powerful for its own good NGP when I first saw the 3DS. Just look at the fact that whatever new architecture Sony uses has to be enough of a leap over the PSP that consumers will see it as next gen. Otherwise, Sony might just as well reuse the PSP architecture, and from there either pull a Wii (how is that supposed to work for handhelds?) or just release a PSP with extra functionality. I think the fate of the NGP was sealed as soon as the DS became competitive being a gen behind the PSP technically. |
