GT5, Uncharted, Gof of War. Same as 360 Halo, Gears, Forza.
Literally everything else outside the 3 tiers sells "meh" at best and/or sales have dropped drastically after a games first release. Aka Infamous, Motorstorm, LBP. Same with Fable, Crackdown, etc.
Some PS3 gamers applaud Sony for their variety, but it can't last forever. Sony sees that their new IPs tend to sell below expectations....expect many more games in Sonys 3 Tiers next gen. |
Nah that happens in every generation
Look at MGS2 then look at MGS3 (ps2)
Look at FF7 then look at FF8 (ps1)
Look at Metroid Prime then look at Metroid Prime 2 (GC)
Look at Mario Galaxy then look at Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii)
Look at Project Gotham Racing then look at Project Gotham Racing 2
There are some exceptions though when the 2nd game does better than the 1st though

Its easy to name examples but the tier 3 approach seems to be taking hold. 3 franchises per console that refuse to drastically drop off in sales.

The ps1 and ps2 had games that refused to drop off in sales just like this generation and they also had games that DID drop off in sales just like this generation
It happens every generation just like its going to happen next generation
