iPhone thrived when it first came out, but it's competitors have slowly dominated the iPhone now in terms of market share and even number of different apps for sale.
The iPhone dominates in bulk of digital sales of course, but slowly, this is becoming less so, and may even get to the point where it is number two for sales of downloads and apps.
With respect to your comment on android, that is just your subjective opinion now, isn't it? And I'll draw you an analogy from gaming, as Nintendo has both cheaper pricing and lower quality specs, but has dominated in total sales, so think about that kowen.
