Gaming Discussion - DMC Demo - View Post

Played the demo for a second time today and i can confindently say we have a game that wants to be called Devil May Cry, has Ninja Gaiden 3-esque gameplay and Enslaved gaming style. It has a chance of selling some copies since there is a big crowd for generic action games and the brand name can give Ninja Theory the publicity boost they never had with Enslaved and heavenly sword.

In that case Rest in Piece Devil May Cry, all hail Bayonetta 2 and Platinum Games

But tell me what was the game?

sure:

the good

-an optically pleasant improvement over Enslaved, one of the better uses of Unreal Engine 3 without excessive texture pop up with a smooth frame rate

-the camera spins all the time !

the "i don't really care"

-silly spin off attempt of the original DMC story with anonymous, world goverment oppression, bad for you energy drinks, crawling in my skin these wounds they will not heal

-in all seriousness donte looks more like Edward than Jacob, especially the jaw line

-a decent generic hack n slash attempt and an improvement over Enslaved in that aspect as well

the bad

-the graphics are NOT an improvement ove the 4 year old DMC 4

-terrible music; pseudo industrial screamo crap

-the gothic architexture was replaced by an exploding french city ?!

-the battle is DMC, in the same was NG 3 deserves to be called Ninja Gaiden

-Stylish meter with no meaning since you are not encouraged to switch between styles or combos but smash your buttons

-very poor (if any) combo variety

-No new moves like bayonetta's witch time and  Nero's Devil Arm

-Very low challange / difficulty level

-Extremely repetitive

-DMC was a different take on the classic RE games, looking for items, unlocking doors etc, DmC is NOTHING but a platformer, a new Enslaved: run, jumb, hang, smash button, watch cinematic, repeat

-Dante's lines were replaced by fuck, shit, fuck, shit, fuck, shit . which apparently is what cool means.
