I've been saying it over and over and OVER again, PLAYSTATION MOBILE for android/iOS as well as gaikai streaming will be sony's future. Whether or not PS4/Vita succeed as dedicated hardware you should be ready for a strong profitable smartphone/tablet/streaming future for Sony.

Sony will most likely stay in the hardware business much like nintendo and microsoft, but to be more profitable they will 100% expand into smartphone/tablet gaming apps. There is too much money to be made in the Post-PC marketplace for ANY company to just depend on a 20th century model...

it already is!

the fact that PSMobile can be further expanded to iOS, and Windows already Kaz has explained that Android was first for compatability off the bat.

its already Digital only and already generating Money for Sony and Indie developers. for one also Playstation Home now is generating more income, and has also grown in the number of  3rd party development studios that have joined up, its not shrunk its increased the number of studios making content.

Free2Play income model is doing quite well on Playstation! the Playstation Mobile has gained more software, because its not just relying on the PSVita to beable to sell more software into the market.
