41st - Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix + (PS2, 2007)
I took a very long time pondering whether or not I'd add this game to my top 50 list. In one hand, it's indeed one of my favourite games of all time and on the other, the Final Mix versions of the KH games are just another in a large scroll of dick moves from S-E, releasing them only on Japan and giving a big middle finger to all other territories and fans.
In the end, the game won, it isn't fair to blame such a masterpiece. KHII:FM+ is amongst my most replayed games of all time, mostly because of two things: amazing story and one of the best gameplays in any videogame ever. There's such a fluidity between the actions of Sora and every element on the screen that's seldomly matched even on dedicated Action games, much less any with RPG components. The story is also a very cohesive matter, building on the tidbits left behind by both Kingdom Hearts and Chain of Memories, but which unfortunately only opened more questions than it answered, leading to the big aglomeration that is the current KH storyline.
Perhaps one of the most pretty and best graphical beasts of the PS2, KHII:FM+ is a beauty of a game to behold. Also, it boasts a huge amount of extra content beyond the main game itself, easily overshadowing the duration of the main quest by at least double the amount of time needed to complete it.
