42. Bully: Scholarship Edition (X360, Wii)

Rockstar graced the PS2's waning days with the release of Bully in 2006, trading in stick-ups and drive-bys for stink bombs and dudes kissing dudes. A couple of years later the enhanced Scholarship Edition hit the Xbox 360 and Wii, bringing boarding school bedlam to a new generation of consoles. Bully is a rare T-rated game from Rockstar, and stands as a colorful and joyous counterpoint to the developer's darker, more cynical, and infinitely more famous Grand Theft Auto series. It's the kind of lighthearted fun that the industry could do with a lot more of, and I have been breathlessly awaiting news of a sequel for years now. Sadly, as bullying has been getting a bad rap in the press lately, I'm beginning to fear the worst. Thanks a lot, Amanda Todd.

That's the funny thing, though. No-one (now that Jack Thompson's been disbarred, anyway) bats an eye at GTA's dangerous sociopathy, but i do imagine there would be a bit more of a freakout of "Bully" was one of the major holiday titles.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
