Currently it is obviously Wii Sports(and its ilk) and smartphone games. Wii throws out this big net to catch all kinds of gamers, makes a shitton of money. Other profit seeking companies see the exodus of new gamers and wonder "how can we get them to buy into our franchises?" Reason they are not playing Resident Evil(example) its too hard and complicated. How do we get the sales of a game with an established name more fans, fast(cash grab!): easy up the game so that the casuals can get it on it. "What about our established fanbase?": Well they are mindless idiots that will buy any game from this franchise. "So we will get the old idiots and new idiots and make record profits?" Yes!
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
