I see the "casualization" of gaming as something natural in an age where developers are constantly trying to reach broader audiences with their games.

The reason gaming was more hardcore focused in the past, is because they were made to appeal only to people already familiar with video games. Gamers were considered a niche audience in the past.

There was no need for long and useless tutorials like we have today. Since everybody knew how to do things.

The idea of making games that appeal to everyone is what is ruining games for me.
