SuperChunks two cents.

1) The console, gamepad, procontroller, etc are all fantastic looking and build quality. Very comfortable and responsive.

2) Initial update, fuck yeah that was slow. I have fast internet and it took about 45mins. However, keep in mind this is the FIRST update that has a ton of apps and data coming over. I'd bet its a very large up date as well. So, when you get one, start the update, put down the controller and change the TV. You can watch the status on the gamepad and do other things until it's done.

3) you can setup the entire system, including miis and accounts, etc with only the gamepad. You can pretty much NEVER turn on the TV... ever. That's bad ass.

4) During setup, my console also froze. But it was during the first time I was accessing Miiverse. I thinking this are launch day issues that are due to network traffic and will disappear over time. I also had to unplug the WiiU for it to restart. Odd considering even Wii could simply hold power button for 10secs or so to force shutdown when it very rarely froze. Hell, even my PS3 had a few rare freezes. Not an issue I'm worried about at least.

5) The WiiU OS, browser, Miiverse, eShop, etc are all brilliantly done. They work smooth as butter and provide a great experience. SOOOOOOO much better than what was on Wii and arguably in every case better than what I had on the PS3 (not sure about X360) especially the browser. I felt like I was on my PC. The only thing was no flash on a page I know uses flash. However, that page has a mobile version (just add "m." in front of url for most sites) and then it worked flawlessly.

6) curtains on the TV... omg its so awesome when doing something web or video based. You can block people's views with curtains and then only open up when ready to show. Provides nice privacy for un/pws. Also each user on the WiiU has their own browser history/settings/bookmarks etc. great job on that.

7) Parental controls. As a parent, this is important to me. WiiU's implementation is BY FAR the best I've ever seen. I can set unique controls for every individual person. So my wife has more freedoms than my 10yr old, who has more freedoms than my 6yr old. Its bad ass.

8) Nintendoland is a killer title. As soon as word-of-mouth spreads with family get togethers like Thanksgiving and Xmas, this thing will blow up. Wii Sports had like 3 of 5 games that were fun. Wii Play had like 4 of 7. Nintendoland has 10 of 12 that are simply ranked from really fun to simply amazing games. My family, "core" (teens to twenty-somethings) brothers, etc played NL literally ALL day yesterday. It is the next WiiSports/WiiFit/system selling game.

9) I have CODBLOPS2 as well and will have Zombiu tomorrow or next day depending on shipping. COD is well COD. It runs flawlessly and never had any frame drops or lag on solo, local multi, or web multi. Simply worked great with multiple controller options and in every way. In fact, it was a better experience simply playing on the gamepad with TV on the ending of a NFL game. (one brother wanted to watch Chargers lose while, I let other brother play COD as I was making lunch for the kiddos and they were doing some forced outside play lol). Zombiu looks to be a great game and by end of week I'll also have NSMBU and likely something else.

All in all I am VERY pleased with my $550 I've spent so far. Nintendo has made a great console that fixes the issues present in Wii and goes beyond PS360.
