44th - Deus Ex (PC, 2000)
A hybrid between genres, mixing elements from FPS, Adventure and RPGs, Deus Ex was a monster of a game when it comes to the story and ability to give the players a huge variety of options when it came to tackling adversities or just progressing the game. While it did have some flaws, such as pretty bland graphics, even for it's time, badly done interfaces when it came to Security hacking or lockpicking and some poorly executed animations, Deus Ex stands as one of the greatest games to ever grace the PC catalogue and the entire RPG genre.
One of the biggest highlights of the game was it's lenghty and extensive text-based lore, which complemented the overall plot and story line quite well and had some amazing, some obscure and some downright odd allusions to various works of fiction, literature, pop culture and many others. Reading through all the entries could easily overshadow the entire duration of the game itself.
A shout out to Bob Page as well, one of the most well thought and executed Villains in any video game. His rhetorics and discourses with JC Denton are nothing short of great.

Great pick, lestat. Nothing short of a masterpiece.
