Thank you, I'm perfectly aware of what official historiography thinks about it, and consider this a typical "common place" that everybody think it is, while it's not (e.g. Napoleon was short). I beleive if not due to the nuclear deterrence there could have been other nuclear bombings, which would be postfactum and hypocritically explained somehow as a good thing. Anyway the subject was discussed already here, on VGC.
@MrBubbles, who would have thought? Well, that was my assumption. Probably, Canadian, as if it makes a lot of difference for me :D
