I don't think disappointing sales and lack of interest in Vita will hurt the next Playstation very much, but it could end up strengthening the relationships between Nintendo and portable software developers, making the Nintendo portfolio deeper and more diverse. I guess you could argue that would indirectly damage the PS4, but I doubt it will do too much damage. Rather Sony should concern itself over how much horsepower is going into its next home console, and how to make it more convenient for developers.
