I've been playing it for about a week now and I'm really enjoying it. (Though I am a huge LBP fan, so the chances of me not liking it were slim). I can see why people think the karts are too slow but it's not a deal breaker for me. But I don't get the complaints about weapons being overpowered and such, I've found I get screwed over by weapons much, much less than in Mario Kart.

Also the customisation tools far surpass Modnation's (Which I found to be lacklustre). For example the other day I was playing a Star Fox style space shooter in the community levels. Having the power of the LBP tools in 3D space really does open up a lot of possibilities for people who enjoyed making things in the other LittleBigPlanet games.

My main issue with the game is that the quality of the campaign levels can be a bit hit or miss. Some tracks feel a bit empty while others are awesome. And there's one side mini game where you control a robot dinosaur and you have to stomp trucks in a city, which is probably one of the worst levels I've played in a game in quite some time. However it does point out the game's biggest strength (in my opinion), which is that there's a lot more variety then any other kart racing game I've ever played.

Can't say I'm surprised by the sales though. There never seemed to be any hype behind it. Plus I knew it had done bad when I was ending up in the top 500 in the global leaderboard for every level. (I'm not THAT good :P). I was hoping for a better critical reception for this though.
