Then it received those "lucky charms" quite a bit, since it's been selling 9.3-14.89 million since it first launched in the 90s. The truth is Gran Turismo is a very large franchise, it just seems like many on this site don't realize that.

I wouldn't bet on that. ;)

GT5 Prologue was a beta release and sold more than 4M copies. It just sells, no matter what. There is a great number of racing fans and GT is very popular. And this people don't have any problem in expend money (looking at the price of racing wheels).
