Does sony have a franchise that will sell the PS4 out of the gate

And Halo 3 12m, Halo 4 likely 4m already, Halor reach is at what 10m? Combat Evolved 2-3m? Halo Wars is even a multi million seller if I'm correct.  Then Odst with 5m+.  i'm not looking at the numbers so don't quote me on any of this but yes Halo has been bigger than GT this gen and at this rate will catch up to GT in franchise sells.  Not taking anything away fromGT, just saying.

He said "the draw of Halo". I took it as mass appeal. Gran Turismo, in fact, has mass appeal, and outside of the US, has it more than Halo. What the finally tally of GT5 vs Halo 3 will be is anyone's guess, but if we're talking MS vs Sony for franchises with that type of "draw", it's a tie. Also not sure why he brought up Mario Kart, as it's neither Nintendo's best selling franchise nor the same type of game as GT.

To the topic, Gran Turismo will sell the most consoles, but Uncharted, Fifa, Final Fantasy, and God of War can all push some units during their respective sell periods. However, if there's one thing to know about the PlayStation brand, it has never has, nor needed, huge system sellers. The entire library has always been the brand's carrying point. I don't imagine PS4 being any different.

That is false. 3rd parties have carried the PS1 and PS2 with big blockbuster releases. PS3, nor PS4 will have that luxury.

OT - Gran Turismo. But I doubt Sony is gonna do that. They let PD take their sweet time.
