I am getting a feeling that most of the companies making games are being forced to make sequels for hits. They don't necessarily want to do it...Like Insomniac for example...they are obviously a talented company and should have the freedom to do what they want. And you have Sony who owns them telling them they have to do Resistance 2 because part 1 sold well(mostly because there was nothing else to get for ps3 at the time) and because FPS games are popular. I'm sure they would rather go and make something else and exciting...Same thing with Halo, part 3 feels like big cash in. At least M$ had the common sense to let them go after part Halo 3. I'm sure there is a huge pressure on Epic to do make Gears of War 2 who may not really want to do that now.It seems to me that this is how these game developing companies and game characters get ruined. Last thing Sega developers want to do is make another crappy Sonic game...but that is what management is ordering and if they don't want to do it, they will find someone else who will.
Your thoughts?
