I switched from Sony to Nintendo, because I was sick of the milking.

LOL No one milks like Nintendo. That 25 year old tit is sagging and ready to fall off her chest.

NSMB, NSMBwii, Mario Kart Wii, Zelda TP, Zelda SS, SSB and Pokémon would like to say otherwise.

Ok fine....nearly 15 to 30 year old tits

haha LoL! That was pretty nice done =)

But seriously, it's weird how Nintendo is milking when Sony and Microsoft is even worse in certain cases.... In 7 years we gotten 3 (soon 4) GeoW, and about the same amount of GoW, 5 AC, a shit load of CoD, 3 Uncharted... Meanwhile Nintendo has published 1 NSMB for home console (4 to-be if you count handheld and the upcoming Wii U - but then you have to add 1 more game for GoW and Uncharted), 1 Mario Kart, 2 Zeldas, 1 SSB... That's not milking at all if you compare.

The majority of Sonys surviving titles came from last gen. They spend more money making new IP's staring new characters and experiences than Nintendo ever would (I think Miyamoto has one more character left in him before he retires). The most dependent company on their only exclusives and exclusivity contracts has been Microsoft. Microsoft narrows off their weakest links (basically the majority of the games they make) to a handful of games that will be milked throughout the whole gen. Nintendo milks amongst a list of titles that have been going on since we've been in diapers or before we've even been thought of. Sony mixes last gen with new IP's this gen and is never really left in a constant dry spell when they are on a roll, because like Nintendo they have many IP's to choose from. Everyone has been milking, this is the honest truth, but some milk because they've become a public staple and want to become known by those characters as long as the company exists. Microsoft has nothing without Halo, Nintendo has nothing without Link & Mario, Sony is now known world wide for Nathan Drake and GT5. I could use the GT argument for this year in the same vein as Nintendo, but I am still sure theres been more milking of Nintendo titles than GT and that game has been around since the beginning of Playstation.

P.S.

I also believe the economy and the two year development cycle are the culprits as to why they keep milking. Like you said, COD and Assassins Creed are major entities in this tit milking game and everyone wants to grab onto it. Its safe money, but in Ubisofts case compared to Activision, they've been making new IP's.

I saw a list of 75 new IP's from Nintendo since 2000, so they are in fact making new games. But yeah, there's been a whole lot of milking going on this gen, and it's probably only gonna get worse if what Epic says is true that dev costs for games is going to double next gen...

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.
