Ever since the NES, I was a hardcore Nintendo fan. I remained that way even a couple years after the Wii launch. But the limitations of motion controls really got under my skin. Along with Nintendo's insistence that every single 1st party game be Wiimote only. It was the first Nintendo console ever that I didn't enjoy playing a single one of the big first party games (actually there was one exception, Mario Kart was okay). It ended up a mini game and party game machine, and I drifted away. After playing the HD twins, I fell in love with their libraries of downloadable indie games. There were a few retail games I enjoyed as well, but it was the creative small development teams that defined this generation of gaming for me. As it stands I find myself moving further and further away from Nintendo. They are once again forcing gimmicky controls as every single 1st party game, and I touch controls bother me even more than motion. I don't see myself even trying Wii U until several years from now if I can purchase it for next to nothing (primarily for downloadable games).

Whichever company (or companies) go with a standard control scheme will win my favor. Simple as that. And I'll lean toward the console(s) with the strongest library of indie games.
