I like what you're trying to do, but I'm also happy people reacted to a claim like that. And I'll also agree with Bananaking that sales =/= quality. That is a fact, as many games of lesser quality have sold better than games that have taken years to make. Sales is a measure of popularity, not quality. If a president is elected, does that make him the best? No, it makes him the most popular. |
I admit BK could have worded his post better (or not, depending on his point), but I think the people who responded were much worse.
You should know that BK didn't originally use Metacritic to support his point. His original post was just answering the OP with this:
"its because Sony has a superior 2D platforming game, its called littlebigplanet"
If this post is bad, then the responses were evil by comparison. Just re-read the first few pages. He got hit with several belittling and mocking posts, calling him laughable, leaving condescending gifs as if he isn't worth being taken seriously, etc. No respect
Also, Samuship was the first to claim Mario was the superior game. So of course, Bananaking had to use reviews (which he later edited in his first post) to contrast the sales argument.
