The cell that is in the PS3 is old and outdated, the current versions are much more powerful and efficient (obviously). |
What current versions? The development of the Cell processor ceased. That was announced a while ago by IBM.

I thought I read not too long ago about a newer version, it wasn't too long after Sony reaquired the Cell manufacturing plant from Toshiba. Errrr, maybe that was awhile ago, sorry.
