The real question is if Obama sends in the ATF to jail, kill or coerce people that will try to toke it up. He already has a nasty record with pot for some reason.

Its a great victory for freedom, but as long as men hold power in Washington to destroy state freedoms, one always has to worry as to how DC will act.

Yeah, i really don't understand what happened there.

Perhaps it will change in the second term with more flexibility on Obama's part? We can only hope.

Bill Clinton wasn't soft on marijuana either.  It has been popular thing to keep the DEA going after marijuana users, clinics, growers and dealers.  Reefer Madness is a pretty damn good book that pretty much shows that it was on its way to becoming legal (or at least decriminalized) a long with being endorsed by American Medical Association and other various groups (quote from book - "The American Bar Association, the American Medical Association, and the National Council of Churches all supported the decriminalization of marijuana - as did President Jimmy Carter.  It seemed long prison sentences for marijuana offenders had been consigned to the nation's past") in the mid to late 70s.  Then Reagan happened.
