Sorry, dipping Jaffe cakes in tea doesn't mean people know how to use them. Jaffe cakes are just plain horrible. Jam on a small, soft cake, with chocolate on top is honestly really horrible. I've had them.
The best use of Jaffe cakes are as landfill.
The problem with them is simple, the jam filling. It's disgusting. The cake itself is fine, softer than a cookie with a mild flavor. With the chocolate coating, it's a nice treat. The jam filling however -- I just had to swallow back sick -- is horrid.
I know Jaffe cakes are like a national institution, but I would rather eat haggis for a year straight than eat Jaffe cakes.
