Just noticed this comment on AMC site and thought it was pretty good...
"Procedural comment & question from a NON comic reader but advid TWD watcher. I have seen horses, cows, chickens even deer, squirrels and rats and a racoon on the show. Saw a few birds on the lead in for season 1 & 2. So what happened to all the cats and dogs, and all the rest of the birds. There are millions of them. Was there ever any explanation"
Does make a decent point. They should have encountered a dog or had one or something... Also, I like how on Dawn of the Dead the zombies don't care about the dog. However, on this series they will go after any animal for the meat.
