The very fact that they only had 12 characters should say enough. So essentially that would mean Playstation All Stars has more recognizable characters than the first smash if we go by the OP's definition of 10/20 being recognizable. Why did anyone bother with it? |
Let's see:
Big Daddy BioShock (I know)
Cole MacGrath inFAMOUS (I know)
Colonel Radec Killzone (Don't know)
Dante Devil May Cry (I know/ third-party)
Evil Cole MacGrath inFAMOUS (Clone Character)
Fat Princess Fat Princess (Dafuq?)
Heihachi Mishima Tekken (I know/ third-party)
Jak and Daxter Jak and Daxter (Don't know)
Kratos God of War (I know)
Nariko Heavenly Sword (Don't Know)
Nathan Drake Uncharted (I know)
Parappa PaRappa the Rapper (Dafuq?)
Raiden Metal Gear (I know/ third-party)
Ratchet and Clank Ratchet & Clank (know a little)
Sackboy LittleBigPlanet (I know)
Sir Daniel Fortesque MediEvil (Dafuq?)
Sly Cooper Sly Cooper (I know)
Spike Ape Escape (Dafuq?)
Sweet Tooth Twisted Metal (Don't Know)
Toro Inoue Together Everywhere! (Dafuq?)
So, I have the PS2 and the PS3, and I don't know half of the roster. I only know 9 of 20 characters, and 3 of them are third-party. You can't argue with that, because a lot of these "unknown" characters are from new franchises and none of them have sold a big amount.
On the other hand, the characters from Mario Bros., Zelda and Pokémon, are from franchises that have been around for decades and have sold large quantities.
We need moar Zelda, now!
We need moar Unchartedzz!
We need less DLCs.
