Ive joined this topic far too late; I studied the philosophy of religion last year and there aresome pretty good arguments for the existence of God but they all have their flaws.
I don't believe God exists; not because of the state of the world, but because it seems perfectly logical to me to see that he has been fabricated by people who didnt understand how the world worked and needed an answer for it. The only reason we need God now is because the afterlife is uncertain; if we ever find what happens out (and it isnt going to heaven or hell), religion is out of the window.
Read Nietzsche, he makes sense.
