How could I ever be late to a conversation like this. Well, while I would answer that certain characters are worst because they are liked the most or are too powerful but I won't be, it's their morals that are lacking. Superman in his essence is not a nice guy at all. He is a reporter who writes about himself, swaying opinion of himself, he writes about himself in a good light (spiderman only takes pictures so Jameson is the one who put across the message that he's bad). Superman also regularly hints at cheating on his long term wife with someone else. The fact that he knows how powerful he is a uses it to his advantage in a threatening manner doesn't help.
This said he is nothing compared to Wolverine, the biggest mass murder in the entire world of comics.He's not a hero, just a murderer. He has no regard for human life, Superman at least has that. Wolverine will happily kill mindlessly and use the excuse of being a hero to cover up his actions.
