Sorry my wording was a little wierd.  We have a generator, but we never had to use it because our power didn't go out for very long lol.

I'm not sure how expensive it is, but its this little machine that sits outside the house (about as big as those air conditioner units) and it is supposed to be able to power most of the house (kitchen, living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms) for like 5 - 7 days.

Good stuff, and once again lucky your power didn't go our, hell I'm lucky I got mine back some what early. My cousin of which has been staying here since the storm because she STILL has no power!
