Oh I read them, but I didn't find anything that so amazing that it could be done elsewhere. The DOT system you mentioned is just what Naughty Dog came up with to solve a problem. Other games have characters/players moving around on moving objects. Halo puts players on giant Scarab walking things and Gears of War puts players on big truck tank things. |
the DOTS isnt just to put players on tanks and gaint scarbs, its about the entire level moving with physics, gameplay and animation still working perfectly. this isnt the same as riding a tank and playing on it. and FYI they opted to create and use the DOTS so they dont have to use "tricks" and "illusions" like every other game does and like they had to do last gen games, which is why they couldnt make them last gen, which is why i said uncharted 2/3 when replying to the OP. in uncharted 3 the level is a huge ship, in the level is being dramtically moved by a simulated ocean, its not animated so everytime you play the level the ship movments are different and random, in the middle of the level the ship flips over and start to sink, the hole level literally flips. you start to play the game walking on were what before tha walls, all while still being dynamically moved by the ocean simulation. THIS COULD NOT BE DONE ON LAST GEN CONSOLES. they used no "tricks", it actually HAPPENED.
"With all do respect it's like you think the PS3 is some kind of miracle super computer."
i never said anything about the 360,PC not being able to do something and mentioned nothing about the PS3 being suprior console to the 360, your just putting words in my mouth that i never said or said something even remotly close to. the thread is about games that are could not happen on LAST GEN consoles, and uncharted is the first game that should be on that list
