Episode 1-3 sucked, and I don't see how Disney could make them any better. Now a new trilogy, episode 7 means that this will be post-Darth Vader/Empire... No obi-wan, no Annakin, no palpatine and more importantly NO YODA! (unless they make him a ghost or something, wich would be even worst). This means only 2 options, creat a bunch of new character and new threats to the republic, or continue on Luke, Han-Solo and Lela's story and I never cared about any of these characters. |
episodes 1-3 did NOT 'suck'. Only a hypersensitive old school SW fan thinks that.
1: was good overall, but had a two very bad characters and bad acting (jarjar and young anakin)
2: was very good overall but suffered from bad acting and older Anakin (aka cry baby) and huge plot holes
3: wasn't great and suffered from bad acting, forced story telling and and old Anakin
Only negative that relates to Episodes 1-3 is how Lucas used them to change a few plots and scenes in Episodes 4-6 totally dropped the ball and made them suck.
Lucas did not ruin your childhood, I promise - he just raped it, like he raped poor Indy later.
There is a lot of story. Its a big universe and it doesn't need the classic characters to be good.

The new trilogy really suffers from bad acting in a way the original trilogy never did! Ep 5&6 didn't have that bad acting. Just saw Empire this weekend, and it's badass! There really isn't much bad acting in there!
And have you watched the movies from Red Letter Media yet? DAMN! If it wasn't for the name "STar Wars" the new trilogy would suck soooo much. It's lioke we're giving it a free pass bacause of the name.
