I've never heard of Elite, but apparently I'm missing out -- kind of. The game he describes sounds almost identical to Ambrosia's Escape Velocity series, which I have had the pleasure of playing, but with multiplayer. I guess Escape Velocity was pretty thoroughly inspired by Elite or something.
$2 million is not a small amount. I hope he reaches his goal, this game sounds awesome.
