Yes the same rules apply, but the same reviewers aren't used. The only review sites that get tallied every time are the top ones that go out of their way to employ enough reviewers to review all the latest games. Halo 4 is getting what amounts to troll shots because a few websites are using it to garner hits.
As for your the top 10 websites in the OP. I didn't pick them so much as grabbed them from a list of top gaming websites. I didn't choose the scores and find the websites. I grabbed well respected websites and found the review scores for the list.
What I'm proposing is that a set of 10 websites be used for ALL future arrogates. That way we don't have huge divides in the quality of the reviews uses to average it out. The same top websites will always produce quality reviews with integrity. I find it a little insulting, but really not that insulting, that you would think I went out and found the best scores I could. If I wanted to list ten perfect Halo scores I could.

i ment no insult to you or anybody, and honestly i dont understand how you would be insulted. but in a way you did chose the websties because you only decided to take the top ten, why just 10? why not the top 20? top 30? plus there is a flaw in your suggestion as one of your top and "respected" sites, IGN did have some controversy regarding review scores, check this thread. reviews are flawed, we all know what but when you take all the reviews, it usually gives out a good idea of how the game is.

I wasn't really insulted. I just wanted to make sure you understood that I didn't cherry pick the websites. I grabbed only ten so it would be simple and easy to calculate. I'd be happy to swap websites and scores if you have a better suggestion. I personly feel that IGN is a very worthy edition to the top website list.

its not about the websites, its just what your suggesting is doing the same thing as metacrtic but limit the websites, which in my opinion is wrong, its limiting the people you can give there opinion on the matter. i do have a suggestion though, how about we just cancel scores all together? make the reviewer say what he wants about the game and thats it, you doenst have to mark it, i really think that would be the best possible way to have reviews
