At store demos it doesn't have a battery. It still may be light without being plugged in but it would defiently be heavier than what most of us have experienced.

The buttons are in no way just a matter of getting used to if you don't like them at first. If they feel bad, they feel bad. The only thing that changes with time is you get used to them feeling bad.

I heard some people saying the GamePad is probably the same weight as the 360 controller (maybe a little bit heavier). 

Feeling bad is most of the time a matter of personal interest. I for one don't like the Dualshock that much, when I play with my friends it feels awkward, so I personally like the 360 controller a lot more. But that doesn't mean the Dualshock is bad or feels bad, it's just that I don't get used to it since I don't own one. Just because is different and new doesn't mean it's bad.
