A game show called the Paris Game Week was held this week in Paris, France.

I just came back from it. Nintendo was presenting the WiiU to the public for the first time here, so it was somewhat a big attraction.

I rushed straight to the WiiU booth as soon as the doors opened, but few poeple did the same. Everyone seemed to be heading to the Black Ops 2 (with waiting time from 2 to 4 hours) and  was able to hold the Gamepad within five minutes.

I started with ZombiU, which felt pretty good overall : like a good old Silent Hill, the survival atmosphere is here and the game seems really hardcore (the zombis are tough). Graphically speaking it doesn't meet my excpectations, the aliasing is horrible and the modeling looks poor. I've seen Black Ops II on an outoor presentation and it's technically far superior. As for the gamepad, the buttons layout seemed unnatural (to far from each other and from the edge of the controller). It was kind of uncomfortable and I'm not sure I could shoot my way through multiples agressive zombies like that. It's still undoubtly an exciting game but will require a bit of training.

Then I switch to the Ninja Gaiden stand, where my beloved Ayane was playable. The aliasing is even worse than in ZombiU. I'm playing Ninja Gaiden ∑2 (a 2009 game) on my PS3 as we speak and it looks the same if not better. Needless to say, the gamepad was inconvenient to play it as the gameplay is very fast. There was no pro controller so I can't really say how Razor's Edge would feel in the end.

My cousin had the opportunity to play Assassin's Creed 3. In this one there was no aliasing at all, but he voiced the same concerns regarding the gamepad.

In conclusion, this first contact confirmed my idea to wait a few months to see how WiiU's situtation evolves before buying.
