I agree with the sentiment, but not applying it to this particular scenario.

As someone who is a big fan of WipEout's brand of futuristic racing, I thought the genre couldn't get any better than it did with 2097. 11 years after that game released, Pulse came along and showed me I was wrong. Then HD Fury combined the best elements of that game + Pure and wrapped it up in a fantastic 60 fps, 1080p package.

Point being? I thought F-Zero GX was great. That was the only one I played, so maybe it was the worst of the bunch, I know it certainly sold the worst. But it was also on the worst-selling platform. I think the foundation for improvements is there, definitely. You'll never know until you try. And finally, I think F-Zero is one of the series that would benefit most from being brought up to HD and possibly adding an online mode. I reckon that could be a pretty decent success for Nintendo.

But I must just be moaning about this because it's the 'in' thing to do, apparently. There must be no actual basis for an argument there. Heaven forbid people actually want something.
