Did the Wii U force Sony to cut how much power the PS4 will have?

That small point is everything, the majority of people do not have a strong enough internet connecion. Unless sony included 4G chips in every system

 

But surely we diehard gamers who are extremely into technology and online gaming have strong internet connections? :P If Sony releases a moderate PS4 and introduces cloud streaming, yeah people with bad internet will be left out of the streaming, but at least they'll have the new console with upgraded tech.

I don't think that's a reliable option at least for now. Most people don't have the enough internet speed for an optimal cloud gaming experience, maybe it could work in some places of the U.S, Europe and Japan, but what about the rest of the world. Those countries represent a nice portion of the market which obviously all companies want to gather. Maybe Sony want to make the system future proof with cloud gaming, but in the first couple of years it will be almost pointless imo.
