I hear the downloadable version just has issues in general. I have a retail copy and haven't experienced any freezing issues. You might have to wait out for a patch perhaps or the next firmware update. I still remember when firmware 4.0 made UC3 stop working on my PS3. I'm getting sick of my consoles being a PC, can't even tell if a game will work any more.
