I was never too impressed in school with some of the battles in WW2. But if Saving Private Ryan is accurate then I would agree that WW2 should be up there. I think WW2 showed a lot of strategy. Like Churchill just sitting back and letting London get bombed to keep the allies secret. Would the President have just sat back and watched his country get hit like that? Churchill was probably a much better man I think.

Not impressed by the battles of WW2? Perhaps because they just talked about it and didn't show any footage. I can list a decent amount of epic WW2 battles off my head and there are still tons more.
Normandy, Battle of Kursk, Stalingrad, Battle of the Bulge, Battle of Britain, Midway, Battle of Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, etc

The Battles that interest me the most with WW2 are the ones that occured in Russia. Everything was so horrible up there. Soldiers dying because of the cold and Russians just never giving up no matter what! Hitler did not learn from history and made the same mistake that Napoleon made.

Well, the invasion worked decent at first then there were numerous errors/problems. They did delay the invasion a little I believe which shortened the time to when winter came. Once the Soviets started cranking out the T-34 it was pretty hard for the Germans to keep up with that kind of production even with superior tanks. The Battle of Kursk showed this pretty well considering some Soviets were driving their T-34 straight onto the Tigers, etc to try and render them useless. The Germans even got within about 12 or so miles from Moscow but they were pretty much exhausted by then (supply lines, equipment and vehicle failures, etc). One of my favorite WW2 video footage was T-34s going down Red Square from the factories to the front lines. Pretty much Russia is pretty damn hard to near impossible to conquer considering the millions of people, huge country, and harsh environments.
