For the Halo franchise, a 90 in 2012 is equivalent to a 96 back in 2007.
Anyways, what many of you don't realize is that most of the great things critics are saying about 4 is similar to the great things they said about Reach back in 2010. Many critics thought Reach was the best Halo game since Combat Evolved, and yet they only gave it a 91.
I'm a hardcore Xbox and Halo fan, but even I thought people's 94-97 prediction for Halo 4 was over the top.The three publications that I follow the most closely (GameInformer, IGN, and Official Xbox Magazine) all gave it good reviews (9.25, 9.8, 9.5), so I'm happy.
