I don't know but I think the reviews are being picky. This is the most ambitious Assassin's Creed ever. i got to sequence 3 last night and i have seen some decent improvements over previous AC's. Combat seems better, the characters are memorable and funny (i love the range of accents you hear throughout Boston), the city is big, you have a lot more stealthy actions now (eg you can hide in cover and whistle to get a guard over to then kill him). Weather is a big deal here and there are a lots of animals (i spotted at 10 already, 8 in Boston!) Plus there seems to be a real city environment, something seems to always be happening in this game
So far, i'd say it's the best creed since Assassin's creed II but i'll have to see how the story pans out as i haven't seen Connor yet, only Haytham.
