Last year it shipped over 1m every quarter. It shipped over 1m last quarter! Maybe well over. Why not this quarter? I mean, I would love for PS3 to do amazing, but being realistic, PS2 must have shipped more than 0.5m for sure.


Check again, last quarter we dont know how much ps2 shipped. But quarter before that it just shipped 600k, and in 4th quarter last year which is usually the biggest it shipped just 1.2m. Sony here is not trying to hide PS3 or PS2 sales but PS VITA sales which are horrible.

Out of 6.3m ps3 and ps2 shipped in last 2 quarters, PS2 sales are just 900k must likely. So PS3 sales are 69.3 million.

We know it shipped over 1m because Sony said last quarter that PS3 was down YoY. PS3 did 1.8m last year's Q1, so if we substract a max 1.79m from the 2.8m PS2+PS3 did last quarter, the result is at least 1.01m PS2s sold.

Sony also said handhelds sales are down because of Psp which turned out to be bs. Ps2 shipping 1m? When it hardly sell anywhere that much. Even in developing world people now days would just pay litle more and get 360 or ps3. Ps2 sales has been declining every quarter, why should they suddenly start shipping double that amount? When everyother console is on decline yoy.

Why would Sony lie about that?

You'd think they'd try to hide bad PS3 sales, not bad PS2 sales...

Plus, the fact that PSP sales are down is a reason for handhelds to be down. Of course, there's also the fact that Vita's selling shit, but it's a reason.

Sony said both PS3 and PS2 sales were down individually. We have no reason not to believe this, they have no reason to say this if it isn't true. It'd be in Sony's interest to tell us if PS3 were about to surpass X360, right?

EDIT: I want to say that I still think it's a possibility that PS2 sold only 0.5m for example, but a slim one. I'd bet 0.7 or more. It's impossible to know though.

What is for sure is that las Q sold over 1m, and that can't be argued against, that's the only point I'm trying to make.
