It is to get people buying today instead of in a few months. Basically it is a super sale.

Well it possibly may, so by it's first year anniversary this Dec (Vita released in Japan their biggest market in Dec) doubling sales would mean ~6 mil units sold?  So if the Vita fails to sell that number, does it mean it is a failure?
