Casual gamers were interested in the wii as it was a new and had the 'cool' factor. Core gamers realised it brought nothing new to the table. Casual gamers don't care about upgrading, but just going from one cool thing to the next, hence the reason both move and kinect never had a chance of being outstanding success stories. However this isn't a problem for MS or Sony as next gen, the casuals will will be on pads and phones, whereas the core gamers will have given up on Nintendo, leaving them without core or casual gamers.
