Is Disney buying Lucasfilm really a good thing?

I'm glad someone brought up the avengers, because this is exactly the comparison that needs to be made. Disney owns the Marvel franchises, and they've done a great job of making great movies based upon them. They've shown that they can be good stewards of other people's IP, even when those other people are very bad at it themselves (daredevil, anyone?)

I think any mainline movies that get made will probably be better that the prequels. What I fear is the inevitable disney channel spinoffs. Imagine iCarly with Padawans. *Shudder*.
