About Indy, they have already set the tone for any sequels I think. By introducing LaBeouf alongside Ford, I think they'll want to fase out Ford as he ages and make Labeouf the main character in the future. For what it's worth Indy 5 has an IMDB entry with Ford still in the role.
For the record, I didn't think Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was a bad movie, but I can see why a lot found it disappointing.
