I like the move. Lucas is a childhood hero of mine, but he lost his movie-making touch years and years ago.
I don't worry about Disney's track history because it's not like the reanimated head of Walt Disney will be directing the next three Star Wars movies. As we saw with Avengers, if the studio executives make smart hiring decisions (and Whedon was a brilliant decision) then the movie will probably be good.
Disney has a many good directors to choose from, including Pixar alumni Brad Bird and Andrew Stanton.
I've always been a huge Star Wars fan, so I'm excited for a new feature film. The prequels left a very bad taste in my mouth, but I'm cautiously optimistic about Episode VII.
