So, in one fell swoop, Disney gets:

LucasFilm and all of its franchises
LucasArts and all of its franchises
Lucas Animation (creator of the Clone Wars cartoon)
Skywalker Sound (18 Academy Awards since inception, been nominated for Academy Awards every year since 1977)

and, to me, most impressive of all?

They get Industrial Light and Magic (one of the leading visual effects studios in the world, 15 Academy Awards since inception)

To say that this was a good deal for Disney would be the understatement of the year. This will more or less allow Disney to become a pretty top shelf group when it comes to a LOT of the layers of film production, audio and visual engineering.
