I did feel Kinect could do a core game well. But that doesnt mean it was Kinects primary function. Color me hopeful that Kinect could do another core title outside The Gunstringer, no more. I know what Kinect was really made for.

It was perfectly clear, right from the start, that Konect would not be able to run "core titles". The GPU has three shader groups. You must use at least one for the Kinect software and at least one for graphics. So it was perfectly clear that Kinect games will either be

a) Accurate Kinect control with "chldish" graphics (2:1 shader allocation)

b) Inaccurate Kinect control with "medium" graphics (1:2 shader allocation)

Kinect's function was to form a powerful software engineering group (basically buying up companies in 3D research) for the nextgen Kinect (which will be a pure software solution) and catering to the "family user" by 23457 "dancing and jump around games". My prediction: as soon as Kinect2 is out, MS will forget Kinect ever existed.
